I’m David Karandish, Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer of Capacity.
We started Capacity with a simple mission: Help teams do their best work. We achieve our mission whenever we help you save time and become smarter in the workplace.
While the rest of our website focuses on how we do what we do, I want to take a few minutes to unpack why we do what we do.
The cynic might say that we do what we do to generate value for our shareholders. Of course, it’s important that we build a financially viable company. But I would argue that there are many ways we could have gone about that. In fact, I’d say that building an AI company is one of the least straightforward and most complex businesses to build. We certainly didn’t choose this route solely for the financial reward.
The reason we do what we do is that we genuinely believe the workplace can be better.
We take a high view of work, rejecting the notion that work is the obligatory bane of the human experience. At Capacity, we believe that—in its best form—work is a place where we get an opportunity to use our gifts and talents to, “put a dent in the universe,” as Steve Jobs challenged.
We spend half of our waking hours at work. Yet, our time is wasted looking for information we should already have. We don’t know who to turn to for help with a given project. We do things the hard way—not because we want to, but because most companies haven’t implemented tools to help their teams.
At Capacity, we believe there is dignity in all honest, legal, and moral work. But this dignity is often eroded when we get into the office and are kept from doing what we do best.
As we continue to build our secure, AI-native knowledge sharing platform, it’s our commitment to our customers to live out our values: build amazing products, help our customers, do the right thing and have fun along the way. That’s how we do our best work.
