Frequently asked questions

What are Sites & Articles?

Capacity Sites & Articles are a self-service support publishing platform housed inside of Capacity Console. It serves as a knowledge base for publishing self-service content, providing a branded customer or internal-facing site with a dedicated chatbot.

How do I create a new article?

To create an article, first navigate to your Knowledge Base, then scroll down to SITES. Select an existing folder or create a new one. Then, select the add button at the top. You can then start typing and formatting your article in the “Add article text” box, using the various formatting options available.

Can I see previous versions of an article?

Yes, with article versioning and history, you can keep a version of each save you make. To access the history, navigate to your selected article, select the more icon, and then “see version history”.

What is content diffing in article history?

Content diffing is a feature in article history that shows each individual change made in your document between versions. It uses indicators to show what was added, edited, or removed between an older and newer version.

How do I revert to an older version of an article?

On the version history page, select the desired version from the left panel and click “Restore” in the top right corner. After confirming, you will be taken back to that version for editing. Reverting creates a “new entry” in the version history, keeping all past versions

What actions trigger a new version of an article?

Several actions will create a new version of an article, including updating the Published status, modifying the Title, modifying the article body content, leaving an internal article comment, and updating the Article Approval status.

How can I embed an exchange in an article?

With Dynamic Articles Embed, you can add exchanges directly to an article. This allows you to integrate different content types within your knowledge base. These embedded exchanges will update dynamically.

What are the steps to launch a Capacity Site?

To launch a Capacity Site, you need to configure your domain, adjust the look and feel in Site Settings (upload logo, update colors, add custom CSS, select a Concierge), set articles to Published, test your Capacity Site in different browsers, and finally, go to Site Settings and turn the site to live.

Can I make a Capacity Site private?

Yes, normal sites are public, but you can also create Private Sites. Only logged-in Capacity Bot Users of your organization will have access to a private knowledge base. Private Sites are indicated by a lock icon.
