Do we need to create a knowledge management department?

It does help to have a knowledge management team tasked with specific and accountable roles. For example, there are many roles in the finance department from accountants to auditors. So then, the KM team can assist in implementation, strategy, framework, and deployment.

As KM is deployed throughout the organization, the KM team would then manage and modify deployment where needed. They may also ensure the tools, processes, and technologies are user-friendly and work as intended.
