Meet the New Faces at Capacity

by | Feb 9, 2021

We’ve been working remotely at Capacity since March 2020 like many other companies. The transition from in-office to remote work has made it harder to connect with new employees when we onboard them, but has also opened the opportunity to hire out-of-state employees. While there are positives and challenges to the situation, we wanted to do our part by making our newest team members feel as welcome as possible even if we don’t see them every day. If you’re reading this article, do us a favor and give them a shout via LinkedIn!

Meet Gabriel Beer.

Gabriel joined Capacity as an Inside Sales Rep in December 2020. Before joining the team, Gabriel worked on strategy development and content creation for small businesses in the St. Louis area. A standout example of his work includes co-producing NexCore’s Small Business Independence Day stream-a-thon to champion St. Louis artists and small business owners.

He joined Capacity for the innovation that we’re known to provide businesses with and he’s most excited about spreading the word about Capacity and our game-changing technology. When asked what about Capacity stands out to him the most, he shared that, “the versatility of Capacity’s AI is worth mentioning but I’ll just stick with my colleagues– they’re pretty awesome.”

Fun Fact: Gabriel self-proclaims himself as the biggest Bruce Springsteen fan under 35 years old. Don’t agree? He welcomes the challenge!

Meet Mary Cannady.

Mary joined Capacity as the Marketing Ops Manager in December 2020. Before joining Capacity, Mary spent the last 13 years working in marketing agencies, media companies, and tech companies as a Marketing Operations Specialist/Manager/ Director. Most recently, Mary worked for a fairly large tech company, and she was eager to get back to the smaller, more agile startup environment. She found out about Capacity via a Slack community that Capacity’s Director of Revenue Operations, Krystal Diel, was also involved with. Mary’s first task includes getting in the weeds of Capacity’s Marketo instance!

When asked what about Capacity stands out to her the most, she said, “The people. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, helpful, and supportive so far. It’s rare in today’s world that you find humanity at work and I’m grateful to be a part of a team that feels well bonded.”

Fun Fact: Mary owns four bikes (zero stationary ones) and spends a lot of time on them in the mountains of Colorado where she currently lives. She hates writing with pencils, makes a mean Old Fashioned, and recently adopted a puppy, Billie Holiday, which she claims is one of the best things to happen in 2020.

Meet Psyche Southwell.

Psyche joined Capacity as an Apps Integration Specialist in December 2020. Psyche, who is originally from St. Kitts, describes her journey to Capacity and St. Louis as “seemingly far-flung”. She was initially a researcher and professor, focusing on poverty and social policy. In her spare time, she explored interests in creativity and economic decision making. Those side interests became increasingly central and rewarding, which led her to create a fashion and digital marketing business. This gave her a chance to produce original content, collaborate with a wide range of people, and visit a variety of cool, exciting places.

Early conversations with several high-power women at the company cemented her interest in Capacity. She said, “it was evident how much they enjoyed working here.” Psyche also believes in the work that’s happening at Capacity, which is why she’s eager to create apps that integrate Capacity’s Dev Platform with other applications.

When asked what about Capacity stands out to her the most, she said,” It’s interesting to me that Capacity was created to streamline work processes and allow employees to focus efforts on what matters most. The company lives by that internally as well, and it makes working here so enjoyable.”

Fun Fact: Psyche turned her love of capturing moments into a professional photography experience. Her images have been published in several magazines!

We’re so glad to have the opportunity to work with these individuals, and we look forward to seeing everything we accomplish together as a team!
